Actuo (“Actuo”, “we”, “us”) is an independent study-planning app for actuarial exams, published by Ottermill. This policy explains what data the app handles. The short version: Actuo is local-first — your study plans and progress stay on your device, and we do not run servers that collect them.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or usage analytics. Actuo contains no advertising and no third-party tracking or advertising SDKs.
Your exam plans, task completion, streaks, reminder preferences, and settings are stored only on your device (local storage). This data is not transmitted to us and is removed when you delete the app.
If you buy Actuo Premium, the transaction is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) — we never see or store your payment card details. To manage subscription status across your devices we use RevenueCat, which processes a randomly generated app user ID, your purchase/transaction history, and basic device and platform information (including an IP-derived country). See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s / Google’s policies for their handling of payment data.
If you enable study reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device. Enabling them does not send any data to us. You can turn them off anytime in the app or your device settings.
Actuo is intended for adult exam candidates and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because your study data lives on your device, its retention and security are governed by your device. Purchase records held by RevenueCat and the app stores are retained per their respective policies.
Depending on where you live (e.g. under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete personal data. Device-side data can be cleared by deleting the app. For data held by RevenueCat in connection with your purchases, contact us and we will help action your request.
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by a new effective date on this page.
